A Cavern to be Filled
The moment my back hit cement
Heart beating lungs gasping for breath,
Twelve am on a Thursday night
Flailing as endorphins boiled out of the pituitary glands in my body
Cascading through my nervous system,
The instant I hit the ground
My mind
Brought back to reality
Body completely still
A contrast to the free spinning cyclone of limbs from only seconds ago,
My mind
Fixated itself on the night sky
Stars barely visible,
What is love?
Love, sprouted within
Love. overwhelmed me in gratitude
Love, could not separate itself from my being
Dancing alone under a night sky
Love embodied me
I opened my eyes,
Love is far from a concept
From any abstract idea
Intangible but attainable
It’s a feeling
An understanding
With the world around you
And yourself
It’s anytime you feel everything
Such emotional intensity
Compassion
And intimacy with the world,
It’s a deep rooted connection within the soul
When you take that moment to be present with yourself
You’re taking a moment to understand gratitude
Inside recognition of self desire
You can find love
It does not have to be something you find with a specific person,
It can be an extensive cavern in your soul
Filled with anything that brings you joy

You really have a wonderful poetic voice! I particularly like the one word lines that you have.
